About Ladera Ranch

Education

The community is served by the Capistrano Unified School District. A branch of the Orange County Public Library is located in Ladera Ranch.

Within the community are the Chaparral and Oso Grande Elementary Schools and the Ladera Ranch School, which consists of both an Elementary and Middle School campus. Chaparral Elementary School received the "California Distinguished School Award" in both 2004 and 2008. Ladera Ranch School in the year 2007, received a "California Distinguished School Award."  Also, Stoneybrooke Christian School is a private K-8 school that is also located in Ladera Ranch.  High Schoolers are served by San Juan Hills High School in the south part of the development and Tesoro High School in the north.  College students are served by Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California or Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo, California.

These are the January, 2008 estimates based on the records for the zip code area.  The community has not reached build out yet, however it is expected to within 2013.  Current population is estimated at 23,140 and should reach approximately 29,000 upon buildout completion.  The median age is 33.4, while the average household is 3.23 people.  68.9% of residents have a bachelor’s degree or higher and 97.1% have a high school degree.  Median household income is $88,316 with just 2.6% below the poverty level.  In terms of race, 65.3% are white, 15.3% Asian, 12.1% Hispanic, 5.3% other races, 1.4% African American, 0.4% Native American, 0.2% Pacific Islander and 4.1% two or more races.
