Foreclosure activity slowed again in July, except for a slight increase in Sold to 3rd Party auction sales on the courthouse steps. Notice of Default filings fell by 11.7 percent from June, and 30.6 percent from a year ago. Notice of Trustee Sale filings were down 5.4 percent from June, and have dropped 25.3 percent from July 2010. (…)

When it comes to selling your home quickly, the best place in Orange County to be is Portola Hills. According to recent sales, it takes an average of just 2.0 months to sell a home there. The average is calculated by taking all available properties for sale vs. the number that have sold in the past month. Ladera Ranch occupied the second slot, taking just 2.1 months, followed by Buena Park (2.2 months), Westminster (2.5 months) and Aliso Viejo, rounding out the top five. (…)
